Development Director

General Description:

The Director of Development is primarily responsible for identification, facilitation and implementation of organizational development goals. Duties include overseeing and managing fundraising efforts, building strong and successful community relationships, maintaining communications with donors, and executing key fundraising events.

Primary Responsibilities:

Donor Relationships

  • manage and maintain Bloomerang the identified donor cultivation program
  • design and execute cultivation and solicitation strategies for major individual, corporate, and foundation donors
  • facilitate and enhance existing communication framework that includes, empowers, and engages donors
  • implement a planned giving strategy

Special Events

  • work with events committees to grow and facilitate all special events
  • analyze successes and shortcomings of events to continually work to improve event
  • oversee volunteers on events committees

Grants

  • maintain current grantor relationships - write and submit grants to existing grantors for future funding
  • actively seek new grant opportunities - develop funder relationships with and submit grants to new potential funding partners
  • oversee timely and accurate grant reporting

Education/Experience:

The candidate must possess a Bachelor’s degree, Business Administration, Communications or related field preferred. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 3-5 years fundraising experience, with proven track records of success in special event revenue growth, donor cultivation/stewardship, and grant writing. The candidate must possess excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrate an ability to build relationships with a wide range of personalities. He or she will demonstrate a willingness to champion new initiatives, have a history of innovation, and have personnel and volunteer management experience. In addition, the ideal candidate will possess: strong time management skills, the ability to meet and engage new individuals in a variety of settings, exceptional written and verbal communication skills, exceptional public presentation skills, and strong time management skills.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
