CASA to Host Community Awareness Breakfast

LANCASTER, PA (March 28, 2019) – Join Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) Of Lancaster County for an inspiring, free one-hour breakfast to learn more about how CASA is making a difference in the lives of Lancaster County’s most vulnerable children and how you can help. The event aims to recruit new volunteers, raise funds, and spread awareness about the work of CASA. One of the scheduled speakers is a teen former foster child. She will share her experience and how a CASA volunteer helped her during her time in foster care.

“Every child needs someone to advocate for them, our volunteers work to help insure a safe and permanent home for the child as quickly as possible,” states Executive Director Jessica Laspino, “a CASA volunteer helps to ensure that the child receives appropriate care, whether from a foster home or relative’s home while he or she is in the court system.”

CASA is central to fulfilling society's most fundamental obligation by making sure a qualified, compassionate adult will fight for and protect a child's right to be safe, to be treated with dignity and respect, and to learn and grow in the security of a loving family. Children in foster care need strong relationships with caring adults to cope with the challenging circumstances of home removal. With your help children begin to trust again, and experience the consistency of someone who really cares. Thank you so much for considering supporting children in foster care.
