Ruby Santos
Start date with CASA: August 17, 2026
Education and work history: I have my Bachelor's in Journalism and Mass Communication from the University of New Mexico and spent the past decade coordinating with nonprofits, government agencies, and corporate clients on custom events and wellness programs. In 2019, I launched my own small business building custom strength training and lifestyle programs and in 2020 launched the U.S. Air Force’s first Human Performance Training Center in the Pacific. I am now back in the nonprofit world and excited to give back to my neighbors in Lancaster and Lebanon Counties.
What is the best part of your job? Getting to use my network to be a connector and seeing people enjoying themselves at events that I helped coordinate.
What do you do in your spare time? I enjoy antiquing/thrifting, local restaurants, and hiking! As a past MMA fighter and bodybuilder, my new found love is Pickleball, which is lower impact (quite literally) and has been scratching my competitive itch.
If you could be an Olympic athlete, in which sport would you compete? Wrestling! I love that it's the OG Olympic sport and I wrestled in high school, so it would be nostalgic.
What was your favorite childhood book? So Far from the Bamboo Grove. It's an autobiography by Yoko Kawashima Watkins about her and her family's escape from northern Korea to Japan during the end of World War II.
If you could have dinner with anyone from history, who would it be? Sarah Lockwood Pardee Winchester. She was the heiress to the Winchester Repeating Arms fortune and creator of The Winchester Mystery House. I would have so many questions for her and hopefully leave the dinner with an endless list of interior design tips and ideas.
